L1 Bloc 2 Social and ethnic identity and conflict

This class will be on Friday mornings and starts in a couple of weeks' time. It is open to anyone in the Faculté de Lettres, but is given and tested in English.

History of identity and conflicts at work before 1945. Taff Vale, the General strike, the hungry thirties.

Identities and conflicts at work after 1945. The post-war boom, Thatcher and Blair; working in Britain in the 21st century.
Week 10
Being a woman in Britain part one : women’s movements 1900-2010, progress and limits in Britain today.
Week 11

Week 12
History of gay identities in Britain : before and after legalization, political movements and cultural representations in Britain today.
