A fierce debat is starting up in Britain in the run-up to the centenary of the First World War. A "savage imperial bloodbath" or (as The Times writes) an "essentially just war"? Historians and journalists prepare their arguments. Every month there are thirty new books published in English on the First World War (and ten in French!).
