L3 option A Contestation sociale

Bonjour

Je n'ai pas réussi à corriger vos devoirs aussi vite que je le souhaitais. Croyez-moi que c'est à cause de la quantité de travail, et pas à cause de la fainéantise.

Néanmoins, déjà, un point - attention à la paraphrase. Il y a une tendance chez plusieurs étudiants à paraphraser une section du texte et puis de la citer (Dans le genre "Mr Smith explains that the main problem is government repression. 'It is the government who are repressing us. That is what worries us most.'")

I'm afraid this is a waste of time. The minimum of paraphrase, and paraphrase with quotes after it is worse than paraphrase alone.

Instead try something like

"Mr Smith expresses a common opinion among members of this movement, an opinion that Mr Jones had expressed a few years earlier : that the main guilty party in as far as violence is concerned was the government itself."

Of course this is an imaginary example, but I'm sure you see what I mean.

I'm sure you will be fine.

JM
